BoomStick Materials: 3 equal length cardboard tubes (Pringle cans will do fine) Duct tape PVC sewer pipe (4in diameter) Drill Lighter fluid Lighter Tennis ball (this will be the projectile) File teaspoon matches Directions: 1) Begin with the 3 equal length cardboard tube. Poke a clean hole in one, the *base tube* approximately one inch from the bottom. Next, cut holes about half the diameter of the tubes in the bottoms of the other two and file smooth. 2) Stack the three tubes on top of each other with the bottom being the *base tube*. Then wrap the tubes with three layers of duct tape. Make sure the seals are airtight. Be careful not to cover the small hole at the bottom of the base tube. (you will need that later when it is time to add fire) 3) Slip the 3 taped tubes into the PVC pipe. Drill a hole to match the hole left at the bottom of the *base tube*. Make sure the holes line up. 4) Pour NO MORE THAN HALF A TEASPOON down the muzzle. Make sure that at least some of it flows all the way down to the bottom can. Jam a tennis ball at the top, shake it around, then lean the device against some bricks. Stick a match in the bottom hole and watch out. |
